Life is so bland if you don’t make it exciting. As a kid, I would never accept it when an adult told me, “Being an adult is boring.” From what I saw, they were making their lives boring. So I decided that if there were people making their lives boring, then there had to be people who were also making their lives exciting too! That’s been me ever since I was little. I’ve always found ways to romanticize my life and make it exciting. So now, I want to share how you can romanticize your business as a female entrepreneur.

There are many, many ways to romanticize your life as an entrepreneur—these are just a couple. Take the techniques that feel right to you and forget about anything else.

Ways to Romanticize Your Business as a Female Entrepreneur

Have a Mini Celebration When You Accomplish Everything You Said You Would

Mini celebrations are amazing for romanticizing your business. You can’t just work, work, work and not play at all—you need to do something that truly makes you happy. When you are constantly working, you burn yourself out, and you need your energy to create a business that you love. Burnout is inevitable, especially if you have nothing to look forward to. When there is nothing to look forward to, you may start feeling lost and unsure whether this business is right for you. You and your business are counting on you to learn how to rest and have fun.

Have Your Favorite Drink While Doing Work Tasks

We all have a favorite drink, whether it’s matcha, coffee, or tea. This is a great way to romanticize your business. I know from experience that whenever I have something hot to drink, it makes my work block extra satisfying. If you absolutely dread working, try making a drink you enjoy, and then after doing a work task you dread, take a sip. This is literally rewiring your brain so that you actually get pleasure from doing a hard task instead of avoiding it.

Read Inspiring Books

Books—I love books. I could spend all day in a library. Reading inspiring books that speak to your business model is a great way to romanticize your business. If you have a service business, read inspiring stories of those businesses succeeding or about founders’ backgrounds. If you have a creative business, maybe read fantasy books to extend your imagination. Do whatever feels great for you. It doesn’t matter the genre—if you get inspired by a fiction fairytale story, then so be it. It’s your source of inspiration. Maybe you feel called to read a certain book series. I know I’ve felt called to read A Court of Thorns and Roses, but that’s just me. We are all different.

Change Your Work Location Around

A change in location never hurts you. If anything, it takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you more comfortable adapting to new scenarios and situations. This is why changing your work location is such a good way to romanticize your business. Work in the library, in a café, in a park, or any other place you feel safe in. Find a couple of places to work so you have options to choose from, and most importantly, make sure they’re safe. You need to be in a flow state and not have to worry about your surroundings constantly. A new location may bring new ideas or even lead to you meeting some interesting people.

Decorate Your Workspace

No one wants to work in a boring and bland location. We all want to be in a space that calls us to it. Whether it’s a space with lots of plants or a minimal one, you should feel like your workspace is inviting and warm. I want my dream workspace to have lots of flowers and books, with my vision board in a place where I can clearly see it. Envision what you want in your workspace. Decide what colors, objects, and pens (yes, pens) make you feel excited to work on your business and create your dream life.

Dress Up Every Day

Every day is a special day. Don’t wait for a special occasion to dress up. If you want to wear that dress, wear it at home. When you feel good, you look good; that’s why dressing up every single day is such a great way to romanticize your business. It doesn’t matter if you’re just working from home; dress up for yourself. You can’t say you truly dress up for yourself and then only dress up when you go out. Of course, run this through your own filter. It all depends on what you truly feel is best to work in. For some women, it’s leggings and a sweatshirt; for others, it may be a comfortable and beautiful dress.

Always Fill in the Blanks With Positivity

In business, we have stagnant periods, especially in the beginning. You may be waiting on customers or revenue to come in. That waiting period can either be filled with doubt or an inner knowing of “everything will work out.” Which would you rather have?

The way you have to think about this is: if you already had everything you’ve ever dreamed of for your business, you would never doubt a thing. Why? Because everything is already yours. That’s why filling in the blanks with positivity is such a great way to romanticize your business. Instead of asking yourself if something will work, decide that it already has and execute every single project without an ounce of doubt.

Visit New Places to Get More Inspiration for Your Business

I love visiting new places and seeing things I’ve never seen before, experiencing new cultures, and trying different foods. I love everything about visiting new places. But I understand that many people may not be able to afford a plane ticket to their dream vacation location (you will be able to one day, I promise). So just visiting a new park or museum in your area will do.

Maybe you could even visit your dream neighborhood. If you want to live in a wealthy neighborhood, go to the wealthiest neighborhood in your area and admire the houses, all while telling yourself you will live there one day. These new locations will expand your worldview and help you create better services or products for your dream customers.

Always Remember Why You Started Your Business

We all have a why. I don’t care who you are—there is a reason behind starting your business. Whether it’s for financial freedom, location freedom, helping an underserved segment of the market, or simply being able to do what you love, you have a why. Get super clear on it. If the why you came up with doesn’t make you a little emotional, then I believe it’s not strong enough and probably isn’t your true why.

It should be so strong that you get a sudden urge to never procrastinate on a business task again, because doing so would mean letting your inner child down. If it doesn’t make you feel inspired, driven, and motivated, it’s not your why.

Create New Services and Products That Make You Feel Excited

Life is too short to be creating things you’re not 100% sure about. Some people feel conflicted between what they want to create and what the world tells them to create. I’m here to tell you that you should create what you want to create, of course, as long as it’s something that’s actually desirable in the market.

For example, with my blog, I felt conflicted between writing articles according to trends or writing articles based on my personal experience as a female entrepreneur. I decided to stick with writing articles based on my personal experience because I know there are female entrepreneurs who will read my articles and feel seen in a way they never have before.
